Pilot Projects

LCAES are currently leading two innovative pilot projects.

Title: Capturing the Wider Benefits of Learning Pilot 2010

Description: Capturing the Wider Benefits of Learning is an initiative being piloted by LCAES Community Education tutors in classes running in community venues right across the city. The pilot involves the use of a Self Assessment Tool which is designed to rate learners’ progress towards learning outcomes and to capture any other impacts that participating in the class had on them. It is hoped that the tool will provide learners with the opportunity to reflect on their learning and also to record vital data about the impact of Community Education.

Title: Development Education Project 2010/2011

Description: The Development Education Initiative is an Irish Aid funded project. Development Education explores issues of inequality and injustice which lie at the heart of the uneven distribution of power, wealth and resources in the world today. The aim of this project is to embed an exploration of Development Education issues in current LCAES learning programmes. Community Education and Basic Education Solutions tutors are participating in the project and will receive training over the coming months.
