VTOS Concert a great success
07/01/2010 00:00:00

The VTOS Christmas concert was an outstanding success and undoubtedly the best multi-cultural event in town!  With a wide variety of acts, compèred by Frank Noonan, the show kicked off with the staff performance of ABBA in full 1970’s gear.  Jayne Foley’s Arts group stole the show with their superb performance of Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’.  Their act was stunning in terms of costume, dance and choreography.

Other acts included ballad singers, African singers, as well as a unique recital of Afghan poetry from the General Studies group.  The Leaving Cert students raised the roof playing accordion, flute and guitar.  The winning act, directed by Michelle Benson, came from the ESOL class with their magical mime of the ‘Snowman’ fairytale.

As always, the concert finished with a beautiful song from Jackie Daly, giving life to the spirit of Christmas 2009.  Our VTOS concert was indeed a wonderful opportunity to showcase the talents – beyond the classroom – of students and staff alike.
