LCAES: Launch of 'Luimneach Is Tú An Spéirbhean'
21/12/2010 00:00:00

Tír gan teanga, tír gan anam is surely the mantra of the rang Gaeilge who meet on a weekly basis at the Limerick Social Service Centre.

Classes are facilitated by the Limerick City AES and this group of mature dynamic community education learners recently celebrated the launch of their unique collective body of work entitled “Luimneach Is Tú An Spéirbhean” in the Social Service Centre. The book contains some of the learners’ personal stories as well as a selection of their favourite songs, poems and stories, as Gaeilge of course! Interestingly, a section of the book is also devoted to old Irish proverbs and to certain Irish terminology which has fallen out of popular use in more recent times.

The book is currently on sale from any group member or the Limerick Social Service Centre on Upper Henry Street for €5.

Members of the Social Services Centre rang Gaeilge are pictured with their tutor Pol O Flatharta at the recent launch of their book 'Luimneach Is Tú An Spéirbhean'.
