LCAES: Tickled Pink in Youthreach O’Connell Avenue
22/11/2011 00:00:00

As part of the LCAES Youthreach O’Connell Avenue Limerick SPHE drive, a fun-filled day took place on October 28th in aid of breast cancer awareness.

Our “Tickled Pink” day saw both staff and learners wore the wackiest pink costumes to promote women’s health. Pink ribbons and other small trinkets were sold on the day to generate funds for the Irish Cancer Society. The Home Economics room was buzzing all morning, with Home Ec teacher Kathy Wallace dishing out ingredients to eager confectioners, making all kinds of goodies, including pink cupcakes, as a special treat for everyone who took part.

The day was organised by SPHE Co-ordinator Margaret Walshe and was a huge success, raising over €430 for the Irish Cancer Society. “Movember” is now in full swing with another fun day planned for November 25th to raise awareness of Men’s health.
