Get Inspired! A seminar on Youth Entrepreneurial Learning
23/05/2012 00:00:00

Gerry Cusack, Leaving Cert Applied Co-ordinator with LCAES Youthreach and Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) 2011 Teacher of the Year Ireland, shares his experience of attending the Get Inspired Seminar in Poland.

“I was fortunate to recently attend this seminar in Warsaw organised by the Youth in Action Programme. It provided an opportunity for representatives from formal and non-formal education to meet up and discuss various methods used in creating and carrying out entrepreneurial learning.

With participants coming from throughout the European Union, the opportunities for discussing, sharing and evaluating good practices were immense.  Over the course of the conference, resources and know-how were exchanged and useful contacts made.
With so much youth unemployment throughout Europe at the moment, the sharing of such tools and methods that can encourage, inspire and prepare young people to undertake entrepreneurial activities has never been so important”.
